HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Elton John has postponed several tour dates due to a severe case of the flu.
The 62-year-old "Rocket Man" has been doubly hit with an E-coli bacterial infection and influenza, according to a statement on his Web site.
The illness prompted John to miss several shows in his native U.K. last week as he sought hospital treatment.
The singer also postponed several upcoming North America "Face 2 Face" tour dates with Billy Joel. The concerts, which were scheduled for early November in Seattle and Portland, are being pushed back in order to allow for more recovery time. Organizers are asking fans holding tickets to those events to hang tight until new dates are established, most likely in December.
