HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jim Parsons of "The Big Bang Theory" and Chandra Wilson of "Grey Anatomy's" may have had luck on their side when they helped announce the field Thursday for the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
Parsons has become a fan favorite for his quirky Sheldon Cooper character on the CBS comedy. The role garnered the 36-year-old star his first Emmy nomination Thursday for best actor in a comedy series.
"No! ... This is some sort of trick fest," said Parsons upon hearing his name announced as a nominee.
