DALLAS — Erykah Badu is having her wallet stripped following a controversial nude music video shoot.
Police in Dallas revealed on Friday that the singer will be issued a disorderly conduct citation after she got naked while shooting her "Window Seat" music video on March 13 in Dealey Plaza, the site of President John F. Kennedy's 1963 assassination, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Police initially said they had no complaints about the steamy shoot, but that changed after the video went viral on Monday. Dallas Police Deputy Chief Mike Genovesi told the paper that a witness came forward on Thursday, saying she "observed Ms. Badu remove her clothing on the public street. The witness had two small children with her and was offended."
Police said the ticket will be mailed to the 39-year-old Badu. She can choose to pay the $500 fine or go to court. Either way, a small price to pay for the publicity drummed up for the video.
The video was in support of the Dallas native's new album, New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh, which dropped Tuesday.
