Ethan Hawke Weds Former Nanny Ryan Shawhughes

NEW YORK — Ethan Hawke has married his former nanny, Ryan Shawhughes, People magazine reports.

The newlyweds quietly exchanged vows three weeks ago, a source tells the magazine.

In June, Hawke and Shawhughes were seen applying for a marriage license at the Municipal Building on Centre Street in New York City.

Shawhughes previously worked as a nanny for the 37-year-old actor and his first wife, actress Uma Thurman. The "Training Day" star has two children with Thurman, daughter Maya Ray, 10, and son Levon Roan, 6.

In January, Hawk and Shawhughes announced that they were expecting their first child together. The couple started dating after Hawke and Thurman split in 2004.

The marriage news comes on the heels of Thurman announcing her engagement last month to Swiss financier Arpad "Arki" Busson.
