RUSSELVILLE, Ark. — Rapper Fabolous is making headlines after police in Arkansas recently seized nearly 500 pounds of marijuana from his tour bus.
According to KARK News 4, authorities stopped the musician's bus on Feb. 17 for driving on the Interstate 40 shoulder. After the occupants gave conflicting stories on their travels, officers on the scene began an investigation that led to the discovery of 496 pounds of pot — a street value of $595,000.
The drugs were reportedly wrapped in cellophane and inside a duffle bag located in the storage area of the bus, according to KARK.
Fabolous, whose real name is John Jackson, was not on the bus at the time, but police arrested the co-drivers of the vehicle — Edward Thimas, 52, of Douglasville, Georgia, and Robert Morris, 44, of Thomson, Georgia, the station says.
Both men are said to have pointed the finger at Fabolous, claiming he was the one who loaded the drugs onto the bus, as well as close to $6,500 in cash, which was also confiscated. They said they were told to contact him once they arrived at their final destination in Boston, after making their way back east from the NBA All-Star Game, held Feb. 15 in Phoenix, Ariz.
Fabolous' fifth album, "Loso's Way," is scheduled to drop next month.
