HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Actress Farrah Fawcett has been hospitalized in Los Angeles since Thursday, but is not near death her friends and colleagues say.
Producer Craig Nevius said the 62-year-old Fawcett, who has battled anal cancer since 2006, is “not on death’s door,” as many tabloids have reported.
“She’s doing fantastic,” Nevius told The Associated Press on Monday. “She’s not going anywhere anytime soon.”
“The family has not gathered to say goodbye,” he added.
Nevius said the hospitalization was due to a blood clot, noting that is was likely a side effect from a recent treatment she had in Germany.
Fawcett’s longtime boyfriend, Ryan O’Neal, also said the former “Charlie’s Angels” star is hanging in there.
“She’s in for a procedure, she’ll be out,” O’Neal told the New York Post.
