LONDON — George Clooney may be the object of every woman's dreams, but the Oscar-winning star insists his love life has been far from perfect.
"I've had some absolutely great relationships and some not so great relationships," the 48-year-old star tells London's Daily Mirror. "I've been in some relationships where I've felt terribly alone. Just because you're with someone it doesn't mean you're incredibly happy and complete."
Clooney has been a notorious bachelor ever since his first and only marriage ended in 1993. While he has been romantically linked over the years to the likes of Kelly Preston, Salma Hayek and Renee Zellweger, the actor says he feels just as unlucky in love as everyone else.
"I've had some easy and natural, made-sense breakups as well as some rough ones," explains Clooney, who is currently dating Italian model and TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis. "I deal with them the same way we all do: I'm successful with some and not so successful with others."
"I don't think my experiences are any different than anybody else's, they've just been amplified a little more," he adds.
Whether or not Clooney ever makes another trip down the aisle remains to be seen, but moving up in years doesn't seem to be stressing him out too much.
"I'm old," he admits with a laugh. "I'm kind of comfortable with getting older because it's better than the other option, which is being dead. So I'll take getting older."
