Heidi Montag on Spencer Pratt Separation: 'I Needed Some Alone Time'

Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, split, break up, breakup, divorce, pictures, picture, photos, photo, pics, pic, images, image, hot, sexy, latest, new, 2010HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Heidi Montag is opening up about her decision to move out of the home she shares with husband Spencer Pratt.

"I needed some alone time," Montag explained Tuesday to People. "There are so many lies out there about me and I just needed space – even away from my husband."

"I had to get away from the lies my family and supposed friends are saying about me," she added. "It's time to concentrate on myself."

TMZ first broke the news last Friday that the couple was separating, two months after they both shot down reports claiming their marriage was in trouble. As for her future with Pratt, Montag told People: "I've always loved Spencer, but right now we're working on things."

Montag, 23, and Pratt, 26, tied the knot in April 2009 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Calif.
