HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Get ready for a makeover.
The CW has ordered a spinoff to the hit series "America's Next Top Model," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The new series, dubbed "Operation Fabulous," will star "Top Model" regulars Jay Manuel and J. Alexander, who will travel around the country giving women makeovers. At each stop, the duo will select five lucky winners and give them a "Top Model"-style makeover — how to dress, wear their hair and makeup and bring out their confidence with the support of family, friends and their community, the trade says.
But there's more to it than that the duo tells E! Online. Each of the five will be competing to be that town's winner, with the chance to go on to a "bigger competition," where an overall winner will be crowned.
"We can't talk about what the prize is, but I can tell you, it is a major prize," Manuel tells E! of the overall competition.
The new show will be executive produced by "Top Model" chiefs Tyra Banks and Ken Mok.
Manuel also tells E! that there's no truth to the rumors that the duo is planning to leave "Top Model."
"We would never leave the original show," says the 36-year-old Manuel, who like Alexander, has been with "Top Model" since it debuted in 2003 on UPN.
