HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Britney Spears' parents discovered several of their daughter's possessions missing after they returned to the singer's house following Friday's emergency hearing.
A source tells Usmagazine.com that Britney's folks were "shocked" to find that the valuable items "had been stolen" from the pop star's Beverly Hills home. Britney's parents, Jamie and Lynne, made the discovery after Friday's hearing in which Jamie was granted temporary legal control over his daughter.
Upon the discovery, Britney's parents called the Los Angeles Police Department and filed a report. They believe that the theft took place sometime after the "Gimme More" singer was taken to UCLA's Medical Center early Thursday morning.
Los Angeles Police officer Alex Martinez confirmed to Us that officers had responded to a theft at Britney's house, but he couldn't provide further details.
"The report is being processed through our system," Martinez said. "We do not have access to it."
With Friday's ruling, Jamie Spears now also has full control over his daughter's residence and he can legally remove anyone staying at the residence.
A follow-up hearing is scheduled for Monday.
