NEW YORK — Ivanka Trump is expanding her fashion empire. The daughter of real estate mogul Donald Trump is launching footwear and handbag collections to go along with her already successful jewelry line.
"Just concluded a meeting with my handbag partners," Trump shared Monday on Twitter. "The bags looking amazing! Ladies..you'll love them! The line will be in stores next March!"
When asked by one of her followers if "regular" women would be able to afford the bags, Trump assured, "Yes!! I want them to be accessible to everyone!"
The 28-year-old Trump is also teaming up with Marc Fisher Footwear for a collection of moderately priced footwear that will debut in spring 2011. According to Women's Wear Daily, the collection includes a mix of stilettos, flip-flops, sneakers and ballet flats.
"There's a great opportunity to position stylish, yet refined, shoes," the Wharton School of Business grad told WWD of the collection, which debuts at FFANY next week. "What you tend to see are totally unwearable, over-the-top styles, or [looks that are] comfortable to the point of forgoing any appealing aesthetic. I'm going for the middle."
