HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jaime Bergman is speaking out for the first time since her husband, actor David Boreanaz, confessed to being unfaithful.
The former Son of the Beach star says the couple is attempting to save their marriage but the pain of her husband's cheating is still weighing on her.
"I’m not saying everything's okay," Bergman tells People. "I'm still angry. I'm still mad. I am still hurt."
Boreanaz addressed his infidelity earlier this week after an unidentified woman threatened to go public with the affair.
"I just want to be open and honest. I was irresponsible," he told People. "I was associated with a woman who I was involved with and had a relationship with. She asked for money. I felt as though I was being blackmailed or there was some sort of extortion."
Boreanaz, 40, and Bergman, 34, tied the knot in November 2001. They have an 8-year-old son, Jaden, and an 8-month-old daughter, Bardot.
"It took a crisis, it took infidelity to get us off our asses and work for what we want," Bergman told the mag of the couple's attempt to save their marriage. "We do the best we can. That’s all we can do."
"When we got married we had an unbelievable foundation that we've never forgotten," added Boreanaz. "But it's been damaged."
