HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Dallas commerical pilot Jake Pavelka is getting another shot at love, having been revealed as the newest Bachelor on Tuesday night's live results show of Dancing With the Stars.
Pavelka, 31, was rejected last season by Jillian Harris on The Bachelorette, where he famously returned to warn her about fellow contestant Wes having a girlfriend. The Dallas native says he's confident he'll find love now that the tables are turned.
"I've dated some really amazing girls, but I've never been successful at finding that one girl," he tells People. "I saw how the whole thing comes together, the process with Jillian. I saw how the process works and I believe in it. That's a unique way to meet somebody."
Pavelka, who started taking flying lessons at age 12, says he's looking forward to finding his perfect match and settling down.
"I really want to find somebody," he tells the mag. "I have a really good life now, but I would love to share it with someone."
Harris may have ended up choosing another guy, but she's convinced Pavelka is one great catch.
"Jake has a huge heart and he's very sensitive," says Harris, who went to accept a proposal from Chicago computer software consultant Ed Swiderski. "He isn't afraid to show his emotions. The world will see how far he is willing to go to find the right person."
