ROME — Javier Bardem was fairly tight-lipped about wife Penélope Cruz's pregnancy while meeting with the press Sunday in Italy.
"I am very happy," the 41-year-old actor said at a press conference for his latest film, Eat Pray Love.
After months of speculation, the couple's reps finally confirmed the pregnancy last week. Speculation that the 36-year-old Cruz was pregnant began in July after she married her partner of three years in a secret ceremony in the Bahamas.
Bardem told reporters that the twosome has yet to pick out a name for their baby, which is due to arrive early next year. He also refused to discuss balancing fatherhood with his career.
"It is a little too soon for me to be giving any advice," he said. "I don't know yet. But I will find out soon."
