The “I Love New York” star, who is a fellow Chicago native, proposed to Hudson on her 27th birthday.
The couple has been together for less than a year.
“I am very happy,” Hudson told Us Weekly last month. “I don’t think I have ever been happier.”
Hudson is set to release her self-titled debut solo album for Arista Records on Sept. 30. The Oscar winner will also return to the big screen for the October drama “The Secret Life of Bees,” which co-stars Dakota Fanning, Hilarie Burton and Paul Bettany, in addition to fellow singer Alicia Keys.
