The 27-year-old superstar gave birth on Monday to a baby boy named David Daniel Otunga Jr., her rep confirmed to People.
The new arrival, who weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, is the first child for Hudson and her fiancé, David Otunga.
"The baby is beautiful and perfect," Hudson's rep said of the birth. "His parents are ecstatic."
The Oscar-winning actress and Grammy-winning singer remained mum about her pregnancy throughout the duration. She and her husband-to-be also shied from wanting to know the sex of their baby in advance.
Hudson's last public appearance before the birth came in July at Michael Jackson's public memorial service, where she sang "Will You Be There."

LOS ANGELES — Having witnessed her own personal tragedy last fall, Jennifer Hudson took the stage Tuesday at Michael Jackson's memorial service held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Hudson, whose mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were shot to death last October in her hometown of Chicago, performed a moving rendition of Jackson's 1991 single, "Will You Be There."
"We love you, Michael," the Oscar- and Grammy-winning singer and actress told the crowd after her performance.

Hudson's rousing rendition drew plenty of cheers from the crowd at Raymond James Stadium, where the Pittsburgh Steelers went on to outlast the Arizona Cardinals in a dramatic 27-23 Super Bowl victory.
Prior to Hudson's performance, the NFL paid tribute to pilot Chesley Sullenberger and the heroic crew of U.S. Airways Flight 1549, followed by Faith Hill singing "America the Beautiful."
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jennifer Hudson and Carrie Underwood have been added to the list of performers for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, organizers announced Monday.
Hudson received three nominations for this year's awards: Best Female R&B Vocal Performance ("Spotlight"), Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals ("I'm His Only Woman," featuring Fantasia), and Best R&B Album ("Jennifer Hudson").
Underwood, meanwhile, is up for Best Female Country Vocal Performance ("Last Name"). The former "American Idol" victor is already a three-time Grammy winner.
Hudson and Underwood will be joining previously announced performers Kenny Chesney, Coldplay, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry and the Jonas Brothers.
As previously announced, Perry will be featured in this year's "My Grammy Moment" segment. Produced in partnership with CBS.com, "My Grammy Moment" allows music fans to upload a 30- to 60-second video of themselves singing along to a portion of Perry's "I Kissed A Girl" to www.cbs.com/grammys through Feb. 6. Videos will be voted on by fans and the public-at-large, and the most popular videos will be shown as part of Perry's performance at this year's ceremony.
The Grammy Awards will be held on Feb. 8 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
