NEW YORK — Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony welcomed twin babies early this morning at a Long Island, N.Y. hospital.
Lopez delivered a baby girl first at 12:12 a.m., weighing 5 lbs. 7 oz. She then welcomed a baby boy at 12:23 a.m, who weighed 6 lbs.
They are the first children for the couple together and the first babies for the 38-year-old Lopez. Anthony, 39, has three kids from previous relationships.
"Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon," Lopez's manager Simon Fields tells People magazine.
Lopez and Anthony were married in a quiet house wedding on June 5, 2004. The couple have yet to officially announce the names of their new additions, but they are rumored to be Max and Emme.
Lopez kept a tight lid on her pregnancy before finally confirming that she was expecting in early November.
"Marc and I are expecting!" she told the crowd on the final stop of the couple's "El Cantante" tour in Miami November 7. "This is a special time in our lives."
Lopez celebrated her pregnancy on Jan. 19 with a baby shower on the rooftop of New York's Gramercy Park Hotel. The singer/actress has said she is unsure how much her mom duties may impact her career.
"I don't know — and I like that, because my life has been so planned for so many years," she recently told Harper's Bazaar.
