HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jenny McCarthy is following in the footsteps of Rachel Ray and Dr. Phil.
The 36-year-old star has become the latest protégé of Oprah Winfrey by inking a multi-year deal with the media mogul's Harpo Productions.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pair will develop different projects together, including a syndicated talk show that the former Playboy Playmate will host.
On Friday, McCarthy launched a blog on Oprah.com, the first collaboration to fall under the new deal.
McCarthy has been a frequent guest on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," where she has often discussed her son's battle with autism. As a well-known activist for the disorder, McCarthy has published two best-selling books on the topic, "Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism" and "Mother Warriors: A Nation of Parents Healing Autism Against All Odds."
McCarthy first made a name for herself on television when she started hosting the MTV dating show "Singled Out" in 1995. She has also appeared in several movies over the years, including "Scary Movie 3," "John Tucker Must Die" and "Witless Protection."
