HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Now we understand why Jessica Biel is always working out with her boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
In January, the 27-year-old actress will be among the stars taking on Africa's highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, as part of Summit on the Summit, an effort to raise awareness about the need for clean water worldwide.
"This is a basic human necessity that needs to be addressed now," Biel said in a statement about her decision to join the effort.
The steep challenge is the brainchild of singer and producer Kenna, whose father suffered from waterborne diseases as a child in Ethiopia.
Singer Lupe Fiasco and actress Isabel Lucas have also signed on for the 19,000-foot climb, with more celebrity participants expected to be announced in the near future.
One possible addition could be Timberlake, who previously chatted about preparing for such a challenge in an interview with GQ.
"I've been training four times a week to get my VO2 [oxygen consumption] levels up to expand my lungs," the singer told the mag. "We'll climb for a week straight, carrying 30 pounds on our backs. It's going to be intense."
