HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jessica Lowndes is flying high these days.
The 20-year-old "90210" star has inked the leading role in the upcoming indie thriller, "Altitude," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Lowndes will portray a rookie airplane pilot who embarks on a weekend flight with friends that lands her in the middle of several unexplained malfunctions.
The movie will mark the directorial debut for Marvel Comics artist Kaare Andrews.
Production on the project is slated to begin in April around the Vancouver, Canada area, in which Lowndes was raised.
Prior to joining "90210," Lowndes was perhaps best known for a recurring role on the ABC Family series "Greek." She is also a talented singer, with her music having been featured in the television series "Moonlight."
Her most recent big screen appearance was 2008's "The Haunting of Molly Hartley."
