HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jessica Simpson isn't backing down when it comes to comments her ex John Mayer made about their sex life in Playboy.
"I was so disappointed in him," the 29-year-old star said on Wednesday's Oprah Winfrey Show. "It made me so sad, and it was really discouraging because that's not the John I knew."
In the controversial interview, Mayer said Simpson was "like crack cocaine" to him.
"Sexually it was crazy," he said of their relationship. "That's all I'll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm."
Simpson said Mayer has since reached out to her, but she ignored his attempt to apologize.
"I haven't written back. I don't accept it ... I hope he gets his life together," she told Winfrey.
Simpson also opened up about the infamous "mom jeans" controversy that erupted last year when tabloids accused her of being overweight.
"I didn't want to let people know it was affecting me," Simpson confessed, but "people talking about me gaining 10 pounds is ridiculous and really sad."
The weight debate helped spark the idea for Simpson's upcoming VH1 series, The Price of Beauty, in which she travels around the world examining the meaning of true beauty in different cultures. Simpson admitted she was bothered by talk about her figure in the past, but she has since come to terms with her appearance.
"I finally relaxed and I don't care what people have to say about my weight," she said. "I think I look great."
