HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — MTV "Jackass" star Johnny Knoxville is currently on the mend from a motorcycle injury.
Knoxville suffered the injury while taping a stunt two weeks ago for an upcoming 24-hour MTV marathon special. The accident occurred when the 36-year-old daredevil attempted to ride a motorcycle up a small dirt hill, only to have the bike get away from him and shoot up into the air before landing on top of his frame. As a result, he suffered a torn urethra and has been mostly bedridden ever since.
"I decided I could back-flip a motorcycle," Knoxville tells People magazine. "I guess I should have decided if I could ride a motorcycle beforehand, because I can't. The bike goes about 15 feet in the air, comes down and breaks off the handlebar on my crotch."
Knoxville was happy to report that he had his catheter removed earlier today, much to his delight.
"My girlfriend was very supportive of me," he jokes. "Thank God, today I am a man again. I can resume my manly functions."
