HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jon Voight has spoken out on the rumors circulating that his daughter Angelina Jolie might be pregnant.
The 69-year-old Voight, estranged from his daughter for many years, said it's exciting news — he thinks!
"It's wonderful news that she's having another child, if that's true," the actor told The New York Observer Monday.
Gossip web site X17 reported last week that the 32-year-old Jolie was pregnant with twins. At last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards, the "Beowulf" actress added fuel to the rumors when she wore a loose and flowy vintage Hermés dress.
"I can't count on anything the press says about her because there is so much said, but she has certainly captured the imagination of the press," Voight added.
Jolie reportedly ended her rift with Voight on Christmas Day by reaching out with a telephone call. The pair hadn't spoken since Voight told a television show in June 2002 that he hoped Jolie sought help for her "serious emotional problems."
He has since attempted to patch things up with his daughter, and last month said, "I'm very impressed with Angelina's work, with some of the humanitarian things, and she's a great actress.
"I am always thinking of Brad and the kids. I'm sending my love that way."
