NASSAU, Bahamas — A Bahamas jury has ruled that Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel died from an accidental drug overdose, the Associated Press reports.
Daniel died in the Bahamas on Sept. 10, 2006 at the age of 20. His passing came just three days after Anna Nicole gave birth to her daughter Dannielynn.
An inquest into the cause of Daniel's death began last November. Anna Nicole's former lovers, Larry Birkhead and Howard K. Stern, both testified, as did several of Daniel's friends.
In December, results from an autopsy determined Smith had died from a lethal combination of methadone and anti-depressants Zoloft and Lexapro.
After deliberating for less than two hours, the seven-member jury delivered Monday's verdict, recommending that no criminal charges be filed.
