"An ideal girl is someone who is funny – who can make me laugh," the 16-year-old pop star tells People when asked about his ideal match. "And someone who has nice eyes and a nice smile."

While Bieber admits to loving the ladies, he's also very content staying single for the time being.

"I'm kind of looking, but I'm kind of trying to stay single," says the "Baby" singer, who won best new artist at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.

So how does his mom feel about his love life?

"My mom didn't even want me dating, but that kind of didn't work," says Bieber.
