NEW YORK — Justin Timberlake has been slapped with a lawsuit by a former busboy who alleges the singer's Manhattan restaurant failed to pay him a legal wage.
In a lawsuit filed Friday in New York City, 26-year-old Felipe Ramales alleges that he and other employees at Timberlake's Southern Hospitality establishment did not receive a rightful share of automatic gratuity charges that were applied to tables of six or more. He also claims to have regularly worked more than 40 hours a week without receiving overtime pay.
According to The Associated Press, Ramales left his position at the restaurant in June after working there for almost a year.
Chris Russell, who works as a manager at the barbeque joint, says that the allegations are without merit. Russell tells AP that everyone received their rightful tips and that busboy salaries were well over minimum wage.
Two of Timberlake's restaurant partners were also named in the lawsuit, AP says.
Reps for the 27-year-old "SexyBack" singer have yet to respond to the allegations.
