HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The on-again, off-again relationship between Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson has reportedly fizzed once more.
According to several published reports, the couple has split after rekindling their romance in March.
"It was a pretty bad breakup," a friend of Wilson's tells People magazine. "Owen said it was a tough one. He definitely doesn't want to dwell on it. He wants to put it behind him."
Their break-up comes on the heels of widespread rumors of late that they had actually become engaged. Those rumors began after pictures of Hudson wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring surfaced in the London press. In reality, the ring was nothing more than a prop from Hudson's upcoming film, "Bride Wars," which she's currently shooting in Boston.
Hudson and Wilson first started dating in September 2006. They then split last May, a break-up that reportedly played a role in Wilson's alleged suicide attempt three months later.
Both Hudson, 29, and Wilson, 39, have been captured partying separately of late. Last week, photos of Hudson mingling with friends in Boston made the rounds, while the Miami Herald reported seeing Wilson flirting with several women at the local clubs Mokai and Quattro.
According to the paper, "more than a few women" were starting to avoid Wilson's calls, because he had become "so skanky."
Wilson is currently in Miami shooting the film "Marley & Me" with co-star Jennifer Aniston.
