HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Nicole Kidman's pregnancy announcement means good news for Kate Winslet.
The Academy Award-nominated actress has signed on to replace Kidman in the film "The Reader."
Kidman is pulling out of the production because she is expecting her first child with husband Keith Urban.
According to People magazine, the British star was the first choice of producers, but was unable to commit to the role due to scheduling conflicts.
A source said, "Kate was offered it first before Nicole, but couldn't do it because the dates clashed with commitments to 'Revolutionary Road.' So the dates changed, Nicole then got pregnant and now it has come back to Kate.
"Actually everyone is happy now — Nicole as she has a baby on the way, Kate because she has this great role she originally wanted to do, and the filmmakers are too."
