HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Katy Perry is denying reports that Paris Hilton's ex, Benji Madden, was her Valentine over the weekend.
The 24-year-old singer took to her blog Monday to shoot down the romance rumors after the pair were spotted hanging out together on Saturday night at Las Vegas club Lavo.
"Oh kittens! It's two pseudo famous people sitting next to each other... doesn't mean we were bumping uglies!" wrote Perry on her Web site. "You know I don't just do that with anyone! That's just how the media works, as you can tell."
Perry had a busy day in Sin City on Saturday. The "I Kissed a Girl" singer started by attending her own rock case dedication at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Later that evening, she performed a special Valentine's show at the Hard Rock's Wasted Space.
The pop star then hit Lavo after her show, where she insists it was a group date.
"I was there celebrating a really fun show and a boozy Valentines with all my good friends," explained Perry. "We were like a group of 25!"
On Monday, an eyewitness told People that they saw Perry and Madden getting cozy and there was "some chemistry there."
Perry spoke highly of the Good Charlotte rocker in her blog, but said there's nothing romantic happening.
"Benji is a nice young fellow, but my heart really belongs to Kitty Purry," wrote Perry, referring to her cat.
