HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Kelly Clarkson is speaking out after four of her songs were recently leaked on the Internet.
The four tracks, "Close Your Eyes," "Ready," "One Day," and "With a Little Bit of Luck," recently appeared on the Los Angeles-based music blog Pretty Much Amazing. All of the songs are unfinished the 25-year-old Clarkson says.
"I write all the time — lots of stuff not meant to ever be released, just working on ideas," the very first "American Idol" winner tells Billboard.com. "The fact that people have heard music that's not ready yet sucks, but I hope they like it."
Blog editor Luis Tovar told Billboard that a friend gave him a disc containing the songs and that he wasn't aware of their origin. The new material hints at a change of pace for Clarkson, with a country twist that is far different from the dark sound of her last album, "My December."
"The 'Crazy Clarkson Fans,' as one person called them, were amusing at first, annoying later," Tovar told Billboard. "But it's great to see the brand loyalty out there. These people are ready to go to war for Clarkson. It's kind of cute, almost."
