HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Apparently honesty pays when it comes to musician Kid Rock.
The rocker was dining with some friends at Southern Hospitality, Justin Timberlake's New York restaurant, when a waiter turned over a $200,000 watch that he found on the floor to the "Cowboy" singer. The gesture resulted in a $1,000 payday for the honest waiter.
"The watch wasn't even his (Kid Rock's); it belonged to one of Kid's friends," a source tells the New York Post's gossip column PageSix.
The 36-year-old singer, who split from wife Pamela Anderson in 2006, was also reportedly throwing around money during his night out with a group of "raucous" friends.
The source added: "He was daring his friends to drink bottles of tabasco and barbecue sauce. Two of his friends won $500 each (for completing the task)."
Kid Rock has not always been known as "Mr. Nice Guy." Last September, he got into a scuffle with fellow rocker Tommy Lee (Anderson's first husband) at the MTV Video Music Awards.
One month later, he was arrested after getting involved in a brawl during a post-concert stop at a Waffle House restaurant in Atlanta, Ga.
Kid Rock's latest album, "Rock N Roll Jesus," was released last October.
