HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush have split after more than two years of dating.
According to sources, the couple's break up was a mutual decision brought about by each star's devotion to their own individual careers.
"It has always been a big challenge for them with Reggie playing football in New Orleans and Kim running her business in California," said the source. "They talked to each other all the time and did the best they could to make things work, but in the end they felt it was best to go their separate ways."
Kardashian, 28, and Bush, 24, were often the subject of engagement rumors during the course of their relationship, including one false report in June by Star magazine.
"I am not engaged!" Kardashian wrote on her Web site at the time. "The rumors about me picking out my ring already are also not true! I don't know where all this comes from!!"
Neither star will have much time to sweat the break up. Kardashian starts shooting a new season of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" later this week while Bush soon heads to training camp to ready himself for the upcoming NFL season.
