HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Unlike her Charlotte Goldenblatt character on "Sex and the City," Kristin Davis says marriage and kids aren't her primary focus in real life.
"If that were true, I'd be miserable right now," the 43-year-old single star reveals in the June issue of Health magazine. "But I can relate to feeling the pressure society puts on a person. My family has never been focused on that for me."
While family isn't first and foremost on her wish list, the Boulder, Colo. native does have a desire to become a mom someday.
"I'd love to have children," says Davis, who has been previously linked to such stars as Alec Baldwin, Jeff Goldblum, Liev Schreiber and Steve Martin. "I'd also love to adopt a child — I think about it a lot."
Davis, who is a global ambassador for Oxfam International, has long donated her time to helping those in need. In recent time, the actress has made trips to Mozambique, South Africa, and Uganda as part of her humanitarian efforts.
"I've had a chance to see people who don't have anything and are still doing OK, people who don't have any reason to feel hopeful yet still have hope," she says.
"I love acting, but you can get lost in the shallow aspects of it," she adds. "The charitable work I do makes me feel like my fame is worth something, like there's a purpose to the famousness."
As for her own future, Davis says she isn't ready to throw in the towel yet on her motherhood dreams.
"I'd still like to find a man and have a baby with him if that's possible," she says. "I haven't given up."
