HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Liam Neeson has inked his first movie deal after the tragic death of his wife, actress Natasha Richardson.
The 56-year-old actor will star as Zeus, the king of the gods, in the "Clash of the Titans," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
He is expected to be joined in the film by Ralph Fiennes, who is currently in talks to play Hades, the god of the underworld, the trade publication said.
Others previously cast include Gemma Arterton, Mads Mikkelsen and Alexa Davalos.
Neeson was already in talks to appear in "Titans" when the 45-year-old Richardson died March 18 as a result of injuries suffered in a skiing accident. At the time of his wife's accident, Neeson was in Toronto filming the movie "Chloe," a project he has since completed.
Shooting on "Titans" is scheduled to begin later this month in the U.K.
