HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Lily Collins, the daughter of pop star Phil Collins, has been hired by Nickelodeon.
The 18-year-old Collins will be a roving entertainment reporter for the cable network, reporting from the sets of Nick series, movie premieres, awards shows, concerts and other celebrity events. On Sunday, Collins worked in a similar capacity for E! Entertainment, assisting with their red carpet coverage of the Academy Awards.
Collins also has previous experience with Nickelodeon, having worked as a guest correspondent on the network's "Slime Across America" tour last year.
"Lily is a natural in front of the camera," Paula Kaplan, Executive Vice President, Talent and West Coast General Manager, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, said in a statement. "She can think on her feet and is comfortable interviewing a wide range of people — from the biggest stars in Hollywood to the kid who just got slimed at the mall."
The rising young star is currently attending the University of Southern California, where she is studying broadcast journalism.
Collins has also worked as a fashion model, having been hired by Tommy Hilfiger less than 24 hours after he spotted her at JFK airport.
Collins is the daughter of Jill Tavelman, the British singer's second wife.
