HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — After six seasons of mystery, Lost fans will be hoping for the answers to many lingering questions when the ABC show's finale airs Sunday night.
Last Tuesday's episode, entitled "What They Died For," saw Jack's group searching for Desmond and Locke devising a new strategy. Who remains standing in the end and what the island really stands are just two of the mysteries fans are still seeking answers to.
The evening kicks off at 7 p.m. ET with a two-hour retrospective, Lost: The Final Journey. The program will feature select fan goodbye messages.
That will be followed by the finale, the groundbreaking show's 114th episode. The two and one-half hour blockbuster episode is fittingly entitled, "The End."
Following the finale, Jimmy Kimmel will host a one-hour post-show discussion and celebration of the beloved series in Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost. Kimmel will be joined in studio by stars Naveen Andrews, Nestor Carbonell, Alan Dale, Jeremy Davies, Emilie de Ravin, Michael Emerson, Matthew Fox, Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O'Quinn and Harold Perrineau, with special appearances by Jorge Garcia, Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly. The program will also offer an exclusive look at three alternative final scenes from the minds of executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse.
But alas Sunday night probably isn't the end for Lost. Lindelof and Cuse have previously said that the final episode's storyline will continue on a season six DVD with upward of 20 minutes of additional material.
