Madchen Amick Joins 'Gossip Girl' Cast

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Mrs. Robinson is coming to the Upper East Side.

Mädchen Amick is joining the cast of the hit CW series "Gossip Girl," according to Entertainment Weekly.

According to the publication, the 37-year-old actress will star as Catherine Mason, who will steam up the series in hot pursuit of the much younger Nate Archibald, played by Chace Crawford.

Amick is best known for her character Shelly Johnson on the cult TV series "Twin Peaks" and its 1992 prequel film, "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me."

Additional television credits for the Reno, Nevada native include "Dawson's Creek," "Gilmore Girls," "ER," "Joey" and "Freddie."

Amick most recently starred on the short-lived CBS series "Viva Laughlin."
