HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Madonna will open her latest international concert tour on August 23 in Cardiff, Wales, the singer announced on Thursday.
The 50-year-old pop star's "Sticky and Sweet" tour will begin with a European leg during the months of August and September. The stretch will include stops in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Britain.
The North American portion of the tour opens on October 3 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Additional stops will include dates in New York, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles before wrapping up at Miami Dolphin Stadium on November 26.
The tour will be in support of Madonna's latest chart-topping album "Hard Candy," her 11th and last studio release with longtime label Warner Bros. In October, the "Material Girl" left Warner Bros. when she signed a 10-year deal with Live Nation worth a reported $120 million.
"I'm thrilled to be involved in another worldwide Madonna extravaganza," Arthur Fogel, chairman of global music for Live Nation, tells Billboard.com.
"We now have a tremendous opportunity with a tremendous artist to do all kinds of new and innovative things on many different levels, and this tour will be the start of that rollout," he added.
