GREENSBORO, N.C. — While nobody has officially confirmed that longtime lovers Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z tied the knot on Friday, Mary J. Blige did her part by offering a shout-out on stage.
"Congratulations to my man, Jay-Z, and my girl B!" the singer said before launching into "You're All I Need" Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd in North Carolina.
Blige is a co-headliner on the "Heart of the City" tour with Jay-Z, who reportedly married Knowles on Friday in New York. Reps for the couple have yet to confirm a wedding took place.
Knowles, 26, and Jay-Z, 38, have been dating since 2002. They have done their best to keep their high-profile relationship out of the spotlight, although wedding rumors have long plagued them.
The buzz picked up again last week when the couple reportedly went to pick up their marriage license in Scarsdale, N.Y. on Tuesday.
The couple reportedly held a private ceremony followed by a lavish party at Jay-Z's Tribeca apartment. Among those attending were Beyoncé's mother Tina Knowles, her father/manager Mathew, her sister Solange, and her Destiny's Child mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Other guests included the couple's friends, Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin.
"It was amazing — very special, very private, very intimate," a source tells UsMagazine of the wedding reception. "Everyone had so much fun. It ended up being a wild party. DJ Cassidy was spinning and people partied until 4:30 a.m."
