HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Melissa Rycroft is returning to her Bachelor roots.
The 27-year-old Texas native will co-host the dating show's forthcoming spinoff, Bachelor Pad, with Chris Harrison.
"I'm excited," Rycroft tells People. "It's fun. It's a brand new experience for me. I've never been on that side but I'm anxious. I'm excited and ready to start."
The new ABC series will bring back 20 memorable contestants from the previous 13 editions of The Bachelor and five seasons of The Bachelorette as they compete for $250,000 and a second chance at love. The program will feature various challenges, some of which are inspired by incidents from past seasons. Each episode will conclude with contestants getting booted from the house.
Rycroft was famously dumped by Jason Mesnick after he proposed to her on the 13th edition of The Bachelor. She is now happily married to Tye Strickland.
Bachelor Pad premieres August 9 on ABC.
