HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Michael J. Fox could be eyeing a returning to the small screen.
The 47-year-old actor, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991, is reportedly in talks to join the cast of "Rescue Me" next season, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Fox would join the hit FX series for several episodes, where he would play a love interest of Janet (played by Andrea Roth), who is the ex of Denis Leary's character.
"No deal is done yet," an FX spokesperson told EW, while admitting Fox is seriously considering the role.
Fox last appeared on television in 2006 when he made a guest appearance on ABC's "Boston Legal." The Canadian-born star rose to fame on the '80s television sitcom "Family Ties." He later found success on the big screen as well, starring in such cult classics as "Teen Wolf" and the "Back to the Future" series.
Prior to his medical conditioning worsening, Fox found himself on another television hit, ABC's "Spin City," in which he won an Emmy Award in 2000 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
"Rescue Me" will be entering its fifth season when it returns in March 2009.
