HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Michaela McManus will star as the new assistant district attorney on NBC's "Law & Order: SVU," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"I'm delighted that Michaela is joining the cast of SVU as its newest series regular," the show's creator, Dick Wolf, told the trade publication. "We look forward to her working with Neal (Baer), Ted (Kotcheff) and me to create another interesting and memorable character in the 'Law & Order' universe."
McManus, who is best known for her portrayal of book editor Lindsay Strauss on the television series "One Tree Hill," will succeed the show's previous assistant district attorney, Diane Neal, who left the series at the end of last season. Neal reportedly told the show's crew that she had been fired, according to TV Guide.
Stephanie March was the series' first ADA, starring from 2000-2005.
"Law & Order: SVU" will be entering its 10th season when it hits the airwaves again in the fall.
