HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Miley Cyrus is setting the record straight when it comes to several rumors about her, including reports that she might become engaged to on-again, off-again boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.
In a video posted on YouTube, the 17-year-old star said she wanted "to get in control of what's actually said about me."
"No, I'm not getting engaged, or no, I'm not getting married anytime soon ... Miley doesn't need to do anything but sit and chill and enjoy life, and make good music — music that I love — and that's the most important thing," Cyrus told her fans. "I don't need any type of commitment, I'm not planning on getting married anytime soon, and no, I'm not living with anybody, that's a rumor that's been going on since I got my first boyfriend ever.
"I definitely don't want people to think I'm trying to get married anytime soon. I'm way too driven right now, first of all, I'm 17, ridiculous, and second of all, I've got so much work I want to get done ... there's no way."
Cyrus also addressed reports that suggested she was considering plastic surgery to enhance her breasts, saying, "No, I don't want a boob job."
The "Can't Be Tamed" singer ended the video by expressing how difficult it is living in the spotlight.
"I want people to know, I think in pictures I always look upset. It's because these cameras are following me, and I just think it's really unfair," she said. "I know there some people that maybe like that attention, but I'm not one of them. I really just want to go on walks and enjoy where I live. The paparazzi really frustrate me, and it makes me really upset that I'm being followed around by men that I don't know, and for anyone else, it would be considered stalking. I don't know who those guys are. I don't know if they're good guys or bad guys. I don't necessarily care; I don't want anyone following me."
