HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Miley Cyrus admits to being bothered by some people thinking she's too close to her father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.
In her upcoming memoir, "Miles to Go," the young star speaks out about those who diss the pair's tight relationship.
"The media has said some stuff about my dad and me being too close and too cuddly for a father and a daughter,” the 16-year-old Cyrus shares in the memoir, according to an advanced copy obtained by The Associated Press. "For me and my dad it's not weird at all."
In the memoir, due out next month, Cyrus also writes about a romance with a boy only referred to as "Prince Charming," but assumed to be fellow teen idol Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. She shares that she quickly fell for him after meeting at an AIDS benefit in 2006, only to eventually split in December 2007 — a sad moment that inspired her hit single, "7 Things I Hate About You."
"It's hard to imagine that our love is a story with an end," writes Cyrus. "But you know, at least I'm getting some really good songs out of it."
