HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Mischa Barton is the latest Hollywood star to come under attack for having too much cellulite.
Several photos of the former "O.C." star have been circulating around the Internet, which appear to paint a very different picture of the toned actress most fans are used to seeing.
"Those photos are doctored," Barton's rep tells the New York Daily News. "I'm not saying she's perfect, nobody is. But they've given a 22-year-old woman the legs and bottom of an 80-year-old."
Barton was vacationing in Australia when she was photographed topless on the beach by snapper Jamie Fawcett. The photos were later purchased by Britain's Daily Mail, which claimed that perhaps Barton's smoking had caused the flab on her bottom.
Fawcett said he gave Barton fair warning in advance.
"We spoke to each other on [Henning Island], and that's when I showed her my camera," he said. "I did warn her it was a public place, and if she wanted privacy she shouldn't be there."
What happened afterward is anyone's guess. Barton's rep insists someone went to work on their computer.
"Look at the shots that were taken shortly before on a beach in L.A.," her rep said. "Did she develop all that cellulite in a couple of weeks? There's a lot you can do with Photoshopping."
