HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Molly Ringwald is pregnant with twin babies, the 40-year-old actress confirmed to People.
Ringwald tells the magazine that she and her husband, Panio Gianopoulos, 33, are expecting a boy and a girl. Their babies are due in August.
Ringwald and Gianopoulos, who married last year, are already proud parents to 5-year-old daughter Mathilda Ereni.
Ringwald rose to fame during the 1980s with starring roles in several John Hughes films, including "Sixteen Candles," "The Breakfast Club" and "Pretty in Pink."
She currently stars on the ABC Family series "The Secret Life of the American Teenager."
A spokesperson for the show told People that Ringwald's pregnancy will be written into the storyline.
