HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Natalie Portman isn't against sex on the screen, but you can forget about seeing her in another steamy moment after she caused a stir early in her career.
"The good-girl image was something I consciously cultivated after [The Professional]," the 28-year-old actress tells UK Elle. "There was a lot of controversy about the whole Lolita thing. My parents were super-protective about it, but I got a lot of weird letters. It was really upsetting."
"I didn't want to be seen as a sex object, so I went the opposite direction," added the Jerusalem native, who is currently starring alongside Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal in Brothers.
Portman insists that she isn't against risqué movie scenes, but in today's digital edge she wants to be especially protective.
"I'm definitely not a prude about sex or nudity, I just don't want do something that will end up in a screen grab on a porn site," she said.
