Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Tweet About Newborn Son

Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, pictures, picture, photos, photo, pics, pic, images, image, hot, sexy, latest, newHOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are gushing over the newborn son.

The Hollywood pair logged onto Twitter Wednesday, hours after welcoming their new arrival, Sparrow James Midnight Madden.

"What a great day to come back on Twitter," wrote the 27-year-old Richie. "Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I love my family!!"

"1st day of his life & my son is already a trending topic on twitter," tweeted the 30-year-old Good Charlotte frontman. "That's right son, ur just like your old man."

The new arrival is the second child for Richie and Madden, who welcomed daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden in January 2008. The Hollywood pair, who have been dating since late 2006, announced the latest birth on Richie's Web site.

"In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009, Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden," read the message. "He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes."
