HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Nicole Richie is preparing for a return to the small screen.
The former Simple Life star is developing a new comedy sitcom for ABC, in which she would both star and produce, Variety reports.
Richie, 28, had the initial idea for the show, which revolves around a young, modern professional woman with complicated family relationships who is struggling to figure out what role she'll take as her life and her family evolve.
"Lately, I have been surrounded by many different women of all ages and walks of life," Richie explained on her blog. "It amazes me to watch and observe how many different ideas there are about what a woman's role should be in this era. I've taken these fascinating ideas, and compiled them into something that I think will be very special (and funny!). We're still in the very early stages and I can't wait to share more with you soon!"
The busy star is also currently in the midst of writing her second novel, in addition to prepping for the debut of her clothing collection and shoe line.
