HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Oksana Grigorieva claims Mel Gibson is twisting reality when it comes to the ex-couple's bitter showdown.
"I'm devastated," the 40-year-old Russian singer, who has accused Gibson of beating her while she was holding their 9-month-old daughter Lucia, tells RadarOnline. "I think Mel, basically, is trivializing domestic violence. This is very, very sad."
When asked about the alleged tapes of the couple fighting over the phone that have been released on the Web, Grigorieva said she feared for her life.
"I didn't think I was going to make it through the night," she explained, referring to an alleged Jan. 6 domestic violence incident that police are investigating. "Everything, by the way, this is really important, all the tapes that you hear on the Internet, all of them were recorded that one night...The tapes, as you call them, the voicemails, everything was recorded that night because I was in fear for my life. I really did not think I was going to make it."
The Russian singer also praised her ex, actor Timothy Dalton, who is the father of Grigorieva's 12-year-old son Alexander (nickname Sascha).
"He's a great dad," she said. "He's a good support for his son and he's been a great support to me."
Grigorieva said that by standing up to Gibson she's been "victimized all over again." She also denied reports that she tried to extort money from the Oscar winner.
"I have never extorted anything from him," she said. "There is no proof of any kind. It's all false information that he's feeding the press. It's a smear campaign, clearly, to me. I'm absolutely convinced of that."
When asked if there's anything she'd like to say to Gibson, Grigorieva responded, "Speak the truth, tell the truth, for the sake of your daughter."
